Stick welding is “rudimentary” because the welder needs only to select the right electrode and amperage. Shielding gas is required for every welding process. Stick welding or the SMAW process requires shielding gas.

Stick welding is a great tool, especially if you have some experience. Stick welding can also remove contaminated or dirty material if the electrodes are chosen correctly. Stick welding is done with either AC or DC power.

MIG \GAS METAL ARC WELDING (GMAW)

The following is how MIG welding works. An electrical arc is formed using lots of electricity between the electrode wire (a positive, or anode) and the parent metal (a negative, or cathode), which results in MIG welding. The arc melts electrode wire and is then deposited to make the weld. The heat is removed, and the weld pool cools. It solidifies, which forms a new piece.

Modern MIG welding machines like ours allow the spool-fed wire to be fed through a tensioning system and into a coaxial supply line, which creates a hand-held MIG welder gun or MIG torch.

Advantages of MIG

TIG WELDING

MIG and TIG welding use electric arcs. An electrode made from tungsten is required for TIG welding. Tungsten is one of the most durable metals. It won’t melt or burn off. You can weld by using or not using a metal filler. TIG can also use an external gas supply such as helium or argon.
